Addressing the unique challenges of demanding careers

New Oakland has developed a new Partial Hospital Program (PHP) offering designed to meet the needs of adults 18 years and older who are experiencing high levels of anxiety and mood challenges related to work, school, or other professional issues. Known as PROPEL (Professionals PHP for Engagement and Learning), the program addresses the unique stress, work-life balance issues, and family or interpersonal concerns that often lead individuals to seek PHP care.

The PROPEL program is for individuals who are struggling with work-related stress, or academic pressures connected to a career, and who could benefit from therapeutic services and skills-building in a supportive, professional setting. PROPEL is designed to help individuals navigate these challenges and develop effective coping strategies alongside other professionals. The program supports individuals who have challenges in professional careers, who are considering returning to work after some time away, or career training, like graduate school. Like the FACE to FACE PHP, PROPEL involves skills-building and therapeutic services, often in a group setting, but also individual therapy, psychiatric evaluation, nursing support and other services.
