FACE to FACE consists of several different treatment offerings and options. The FACE to FACE PHP was pioneered by New Oakland founder Dr. Ismail Sendi as an alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization for adults and youth. Since that time more than 100,000 individuals across Michigan have been helped by the program’s intensive, innovative full-day, multi-day combination of psychiatric care, group, individual and family therapies. The FACE to FACE Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers many of the same clinical benefits as the PHP program, delivered with more flexible scheduling and duration. New Oakland also offers three specialty program adaptations of the FACE to FACE model—each tailored to meet the needs of individuals with needs for a higher level of care than traditional outpatient counseling.
Our Comprehensive Eating Recovery Vision (CERV) eating disorders program offers world-class care and eating disorders treatment in a rigorous non-residential setting. Built around the principles of the FACE to FACE Partial Hospital Program (PHP), New Oakland’s CERV treatment vision includes integration of leading strategies for coping with and overcoming the needs of eating disorders or all types.

Our SUSTAIN (Substance Use Treatment and Intervention) program for Substance Use Disorder is led by some of Michigan’s leading addiction medicine specialists and designed to address both the physical and behavioral causes that lead to substance abuse issues. The SUSTAIN program also seeks to integrate the same individual, group and family therapy approaches to healing that can be the foundation for long-term recovery.

New Oakland’s PROPEL Program (Professionals PHP for Engagement and Learning) adapts the established psychiatric and therapeutic tools and strategies of the FACE to FACE program to the unique needs of working professionals and others in demanding careers. The program is for adults who may benefit from therapeutic services and skills-building in a supportive, professional setting.
