For more than 40 years, Kim Smith has supported and advocated for individuals at all phases of their mental health journeys. Her compassionate, person-centered approach has touched every level of care—from outpatient services to mobile crisis response, and her pivotal role working with New Oakland founder Dr. Ismail Sendi in the establishment and development of the FACE to FACE partial hospital program. In all her many roles, Kim has always been guided by a deep belief in each person’s ability to heal, grow, and thrive with the right support. Her dedication, teamwork and commitment to finding solutions has been an indispensable part of New Oakland’s growth and success in creating life-changing programming across Michigan and ensuring that every client receives the high-quality, respectful care they deserve.
